1. Prof. Tong-Yee (Tony) Lee received the PhD degree in computer engineering from Washington State University, Pullman, in May 1995. He is currently the Chair Professor (2014~)(°ê¥ß¦¨¥\¤j¾ÇÁ¿®y) in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Cheng-Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, R.O.C.. In addition, he is a Distinguished Research Fellow (¬ì§Þ³¡³Ç¥X¯S¬ù¬ã¨sû)(2022/01) and Research Fellow (I) (2015/08-2018/07) (II) (2018/08~2021/07), Ministry of Science and Technology (¬ì§Þ³¡¯S¬ù¬ã¨sû (I)(II)) and also Research Fellow, Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan (¤¤¥¡¬ã¨s°|¸ê°T¬ì§Þ³Ð·s¬ã¨s¤¤¤ß) (2014-2016). Recently, he is also a Chair Professor NCKU & Himax Technology (2016~) (°ê¥ß¦¨¥\¤j¾Ç ©_´ºÁ¿®y) He leads the Computer Graphics Group, Visual System Laboratory, National Cheng-Kung University (http://graphics.csie.ncku.edu.tw/). Prof. Lee is the recipient of the 2008, (2009/07~2012/07) and (2012/08~2015/07) Distinguished Research Awards (³sÄò¤T¦¸¬ì§Þ³¡³Ç¥X¼ú)from National Science Council, Taiwan , the 2005 and 2006 First-Class Principal Investigator Awards from National Science Council, of Taiwan, ROC, 2009 Distinguished Electrical Engineering Professor, the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (CIEE), ROC, and 2003 Youth Engineer Award, the Chinese Institute of Engineers ROC. Prof. Lee is also the recipient of 2010 IEEE Outstanding Technical Achievement Award, Tainan Section, and 2010 IICM (Institute of Information & Computing Machinery) K.T. Li Breakthrough Award. His current research interests include computer graphics, non-photorealistic rendering, image-based rendering, visualization, virtual reality, surgical simulation, medical visualization and medical system, and distributed and collaborative virtual environments. He also serves on the editorial boards of the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG) (2022/09), the IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine, the Visual Computer, the Computers and Graphics Journal, the Journal Recent Patents on Engineering, the Journal on Information Science and Engineering, and the Journal of Software Engineering. He served as a member of the international program committees of several conferences including IEEE Visualization, Pacific Graphics (Program Co-chair for PG2011), the IEEE Pacific Visualization Symposium, IEEE Virtual Reality, the IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Information Technology and Applications in Biomedicine, the International Conference on Artificial Reality and Telexistence, and the International Conference in Central Europe on Computer Graphics, Visualization, and Computer Vision. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ACM.
